2601 - the fridge

up to yesterday i didn't know that a fridge can be such a social place. during the evening every guest of my mate dominik's great birthday party availed oneself perceived three to four times with beer and other chilled stuff from the refrigerator. if you had set yourself the goal to meet some new people, you simply had to wait at the fridge for the next thirsty person.

2101 - cat's eye

it's a good thing to share the flat with a kitty. whenever you are sick, the cat will befriend and care about you, if only by taking a nap on your stomach. although nila isn't resting on my body in the pic above, she basically acts as a great supporter in bringing me back to health.

2512 - yoo-hoo smile

although you might think that the pic of our today's (second) presents hand out looks a bit like a frame of a posed scenery, there was truly not more than a yoo-hoo by me to attract tina's attention for a short time, this one (almost) candid image. your eye for the details - colours, lights, atmosphere and so much more - is the key to success.

youtube tutorials can be very helpful, especially if you need a clear and simple explanation of a special method here and now. today in the evening after the daily body care tina wanted to braid maxi's hair with a fishbone pigtail so that she is even more attractive than she usually already is without special styling activities for her today's birthday party.

both of them evinced different, well developed talents - tina is able to acquire a new mechanical skill on the basis of an instruction within a short length of time. and maxi looks very good with simply every (long) hairstyle.

0511 - guitar hero

there are different possibilities to produce well exposed low light shots. one of them is to hold the camera steady and use the capabilities of the built-in stabiliser. if your skills are well developed, the subject isn't moving and you are fortunate you can get decent results. this method shouldn't be used when you desperately have to get a good result in a temporary and short candid scenery but it is the first choice if you need best quality, rejects are not a problem and time isn't limited. for the picture above i applied only a bit of noise reduction during post-processing. the sample is one of round about 30 attempts to shoot marv while he was playing a slow, relaxed song on his guitar.

contrary to the first one the black and white sample was shot with very, very high iso settings. i'd never touched such high iso ranges before, but now i've to say that it is really an option for me if the subject is suitable. the image above was post-processed in silver efex pro completely without any noise reduction and additional grain. due to the iso of 12800 i was able to shoot marv while he was rocking the guitar in the almost complete darkness. i think that it looks really great.

3110 - invigorating hustle and bustle

reunion with the family after a long time is always a special event. everybody is excited, great food is served and old stories are told. and you realise that the next generation has finally taken command.

interesting fitment doesn't always have to be expensive. the interior (and of course also the food and the service) of the bar hatari in the schanzenviertel of hamburg is really attractive although it doesn't seem to be very luxury and high-cost.

today was packing day. tomorrow morning we'll sally towards italy. first we are going to spend a few days of hiking in the ortler alps and afterwards we'll regenerate while relaxing by the mediterranean sea in liguria. we both are thrilled to bits. we simply can't get enough of travelling.

at the beginning of the week we took temporary farewell of kingston, the dog of our neighbours. during a long walk in the sunset we got over the the first vacation stress. haha, of course there was no stress yet, but prevention is better than clemency. dog walking with kingston is a real pleasure - he is attentive, mostly on orders and a big funster. he's a great companion although only a temporary one for us.

if there is any internet connection almost two kilometres above sea level i'll report with the daily pic from south tirol tomorrow.

with today's pic unfortunately i really don't know if tina will be still fond of me tomorrow morning when she will light upon my daily post.

withal i want to use today's posting for a declaration of love to my lady: also with a towel in your hair you are for me simply the most adorable girl in the world. okay, there are some garments like the white teddy sweatpants, that are not quite ... joke aside, you can even do with towels in your hair and ugly sweatpants.

today's pic was shot while tina was checking anything on the internet. luckily she'd thought that i'm already in the shower but this was not the case. candid portraits please me more and more - the blog seems to convert to a photographic diary. hopefully concerning the photographic matter a learning curve will become visible increasingly.

0709 - multiple bob

i necessarily need an ally! since two weeks i keep struggling with an incompetent ebay seller that has already sent me a wrong item for the second time. four weeks ago i'd ordered three simple macro tubes for my nex 7 from a chinese ebay seller with mostly good ratings for the reason that i'd like to have the option to shoot with a greater magnification if necessary.

two weeks ago i had my first rude awakening: the tubes that had been sent to me didn't fit for sony nex e-mount. some sample and evidence pics and mails later they apologised in person and promised to send me the correct article next time. this one arrived yesterday but it is anything except correct. they've really managed to send me the exactly same wrong article of their first attempt again. unbelievable.

now i have to write mails and shoot evidence pics again. really annoying. anyhow during this time sideshow bob may reside in the otherwise useless bunch of adaptors and tubes and spread fear and terror.

maybe i'm going to attach today's pic to my recent evidence mail. i think bob would be a good confederate.
