we recently got a lot of time. since time is rare these days, this half-hour sand glass gives you a reasonable amount of time to do whatever you want. and the time seems to smile at you, too.
no pinhole
today is the last sunday in april and as i realised incidentally, today is also the world pinhole day 2013.
unfortunately on the fly i didn't find the time to plant myself and contruct a decent pinhole cam or body cap, but i at least decided to exclusively use the fujian cctv lens today. although it cannot be really used as a pinhole, its capability to be stopped down to almost infinity encouraged me to test the lens at very, very, very slow apertures.
well, my résumé: next year i'll participate in the competition with a fancy self-made pinhole film camera... only then i'll be able to have a voice in the chapter. the two samples with extremely slow respectively fast aperture below, that were composed without any artistic ambition, were shot in quick succession, with the aim to reach approximately the same exposure value, and only converted to b&w in lightroom without further post-processing.
classic beauty
normally i'm not a big fan of flowers, but this singular tulip, that was shining brightly in the evening sunlight, attracted my unrestricted attention. it stands in front of our house, on the south side, directly facing the sun. until today it's a lone fighter in the middle of grass and greenery, in the coming days a great many sisters and cousins will consort with the red tulip, though.
break
muse is a thing, that goes short these days. however that may be, i wasn't sad about being roused from my day dreams while padeling home today in the evening. an incoming call made for a short, relaxing break from my routine.
only because of this constrained break i was forced to lift my head and study my current surrounding extensively. a break in weather was approaching.
it was definitely a good moment to take a break from monotony of everyday life and turn to muse, on the waterfront as well as on the water.
kowoodski
today's image is especially dedicated to my little sisters, who wish for more pets on my blog. so dear sisters and other readers, here you see the wonderful tom-cat kowalski, who loves to sit on all his different wood piles in the yard.
coming out of hibernation
the snow has vanished and the warming sun is back in central europe. so it's finally time to wake up from hibernation mode for everything and everybody of us, also the (few) american automobiles here in germany; those cars, that are reasonably susceptible to rust and have been protected from the cold seasons for that reason till this day.
behind the bridge
quite a few times i want to have depth in my photographs and compose the picture accordingly. in so doing even simple scenes can possibly get interesting.
light bubbles
the (private) upside of an exhausting business evening is the fact, that you may enjoy the finest from kitchen and bar, mostly in an extra fine surrounding and also without considering the costs. in return in the majority of cases you are not able to share your bed with your life partner on that night, what is the other side of the coin.
along the lonely road
if one thinks, that inhabited places cannot be "more abandoned" than - let's just say - dead, that one hasn't visited the small towns of east germany yet. the only thing, that points to life there, is the flickering street lighting. so unfortunately my hope for a strolling soul couldn't been satisfied that night and place.
similar triangles
more than a year ago i'd already published a classic view of the new voigtland halle. however this time i wanted to capture the architectural details of the roof construction, that is reflected in the glass facade. although it might well be, that the triangles are not exactly similar, the variety of triangular shapes pleases me.
