adaptive tactics are not only needed at playing chess, but also if you want to get along with the freak weather this early summer. imho beanie and hood don't belong to the used headwear of an usual june.
house by the lake
today my thoughts are with the people, that are suffering from the floods in eastern germany at the moment. both my home town werdau with the neighbouring villages as well as tina's home town greiz are badly hurt by the current natural disaster. at least our families are not directly affected by damages.
altough laughing away the catastrophe is actually not an appropriate option, an architectural style like the one shown in the image here would make things after the retreat of water much easier... here at lake constance / bodensee the situation is uncritical - the water mark is not yet at historic levels. we'll see, how the melting snow from the alps will impact on that during the next days, but in return a lot of water will vaporise, when the sun returns by tomorrow.
car park beauty
what an amazing bride! i have rarely seen such a wonderful lady; very nice, polite and with a magnetic personality. together with more than 70 guests from all over the world we celebrated her and tobi's wedding and a wonderful party overall. many thanks to munich, there is more to come from us as a reply.
due to the fact, that there was a professional photographer with us the all day long, i was able to do mainly the kind of photography, i'm used to: working unobtrusively. the nex 7 with the sel35 f1.8, the walimex 8 f2.8 fisheye and the sel50 f1.8 portrait lens are the items i had with me, a light and almost invisible equipment, especially compared to the canon 7d package of my counterpart. well, as a technical side note i can confirm, that the nex works well on a wedding party, but of course not optimally here. as the well-known, central negative fact one can name the autofocus system, but i don't rely on the autofocus in low light situations anymore. as such, the focus by wire handling could be improved as well. whatever,
the image above is candid, expressive (and reasonably sharp). period.
sheltered
the experts predict more than 100 litres of rain for this weekend. this would be more than the usual amount of one month. anyway i'm predicting, that the wedding is going to be a wet one...
vanishing lines
although this image would make an even better impression, if it would had been shot with a wider angle of view, imho this 50mm view works well, too.
i'm off to munich now to celebrate and photograph the wedding party of my university friend tobi on saturday. let's see, how the nex 7 does there. i'll report.
blue bed of clouds
no matter how you look at it, it's hard to get something out of 9 degrees and an awful lot of rain in may. at the utmost one might say, that the atmosphere is supposed to be great, when a sudden change in weather is approaching, but even for me, a lover of authenticity, it's really difficult to be happy with the current conditions.
well, it was indeed relieving and relaxing to be out in the blue hour, and because of the low temperatures we had the nature and therewith the wonderful, on impressive clouds embedded tree almost all by ourselves.
concrete among trees
today on my way home with the bike i stopped at the cultural path in kluftern, where the hdr self portrait was already taken a few weeks ago. since the kind of the exhibited art appeals to me, i plan to look over the remaining 10 installations on the circular nature track anytime soon, too.
differences
as usual in life your perspective decides on the way you perceive your surroundings. two images, shot in quick succession, at the same place, with different angle of views and focuses, only slightly tweaked in lightroom.
braced
growing in the rainy forest.
exposed concrete
due to the very effective stabiliser you can work with the sony sel35 at 1/6 of a second hand-held.
