i'm writing these sentences from milan, straight from my htc one mobile phone. import with a sd card reader worked well, the image was shot in b&w high contrast mode and just cropped and aligned in snapseed. although working with the squarespace interface in chrome on a mobile device isn't very comfortable, it's definitely manageable. and btw Milan is an appealing city. more to come...
taking leave
again i have to say farewell, this time for a very long time. unfortunately i'll be away from home for almost 7 weeks from today. anyhow if all goes well, i'll see tina at least in the middle of this far too long period, whereas i won't have the possibility to walk with kingston or cuddle my cat nila.
in the course of my absence i'll visit several parts of europe & germany. i expect, that i won't be able to publish images in the usual daily frequency, but two to four postings per week should be manageable. stay healthy and tuned ;)
btw: the humans and townscapes galleries got an update. as of today they contain my favourite set of images, almost all captured with the sony nex 7.
reflection
... by the lake, but without water. volker, please don't be angry with me :)
cultivating service
today i ended up walking through the fields in sunset and studying the farmer's working steps. i know, that the vines have to be treated in 24 (different) steps till the grapes are ready for harvest. i wonder how often the soil is broken up and the corn is cut down within a year...
tangerine stranded
these days it's quite impossible to motivate yourself to do anything different from taking to the water as early as possible. thereby besides the current you don't have to take that many risks into account - dangerous attacks from the depth are basically not to be expected.
bathing belle
book flea market
one would rather expect a tool flea market than a junk market for old books on a farm.
climb
diminutive residual
all the strawberries are harvested, the field is broken up and the farmers have quickly left the area to worry about the rest of the summer yield. only a few wooden boxes - i think they are called lugs - remained on the field.
instead of harvest-fresh berries this one lug contained just one single drop of rosin, apparently it was left to its fate. well, all good things must come to an end.
stop!
stop this object!
it's quite uncommon to go into the water with a 1000 bucks camera in the hand, but at times unusual approaches make sense.
