..., at least almost. the colours of nature have already shifted to autumnal tones.
the image above shows the beautiful castle of kirchberg in sunset, i applied only small tweaks in lightroom.

finally to complete the set of images from hamburg i'd like to publish matthias' photo, which shows me shooting the last sample of yesterday's posting.
he used an old zeiss clone, a canon 50 f1.5 ltm from 1952 with his leica m8 for that one. sooc jpg.
walking with a friend - sony nex 7 | sel35 f1.8 | f2.8 | ISO100 | 1/400
the urban photographs of the last days have been taken on last saturday in the course of a walk across the fashionable districts next to hamburg's port together with my friend matthias, who had his leica m8 and several, mainly very old vintage lenses in his bag. for me it was the first time, that i came into contact with valuable leica, zeiss and canon glass, that had been built decades before my birthday and which is still working like a charm. his oldest lens was built in 1935!
the images below don't state anything special, but may give you an impression of hamburg's wonderful district altona.

powder barrel picnic - sony nex 7 | sel35 f1.8 | f2.8 | ISO160 | 1/60
after a long and exhausting walk across the streets of st. pauli one is longing for a refreshment of any kind. agreeing with this fact i for one would eventually reconsider the place of eating: sitting next to a pulverfass - a powder barrel - seems to be not quite the best option.

most of the tourists have already left the region, the sun seems to follow. at least the beach chairs spread a bit of colour.

since i'm already here in the very north of germany at the moment, a visit by the sea is obligatory. i'd already heard of the peculiarities of the people that live by the north sea, but i didn't expect to see such strange things...
in the course of the search for my best photographs ever, i stumbled upon this image of my hidden kitty nila. i'm so excited to see her again next week.

family time is quality time.
and i cannot imagine anything better to celebrate a family come-together than with a decent barbecue with sausages from thuringia. if you ever stop by at thuringia or saxony, please do necessarily try the grilled sausages from a local barbecue stand and let me know if you like them.
it's my plan to get the glimpse galleries ready till the weekend. for that reason there will be no daily postings till friday or saturday, but daily updates in the best-of galleries. my further travel plans for september include hamburg, the northern sea, berlin and finally portugal with porto, the whole west coast and lisbon. more to come...
once again the image above is a jpg straight out of camera, toy mode.
