during the hiking trip i only had the sony sel 50 f1.8 and the walimex 8 f2.8 with me, (very cool) samples with the second one will be published tomorrow. using mostly the sel 35 f1.8 for my daily shooting, i had almost forgotten, how great the bigger brother actually is.

can you imagine, how you would feel, if you have recently finished your descend from a difficult summit, you are very proud of yourself and in the very next moment a couple of hikers carrying bikes on their backs are popping up on the heavy, snowy slope?

back from our short holiday trip in tyrol. we had a wonderful time in the already heavily snow-covered alps. i'm going to publish a few (winterly) photographs during the next days.
first of all on friday we met with our friends at the silvretta reservoir and ascended to our base camp, the friedrichshafen lodge. i took this something dark photograph late in the evening after a hearty meal, enjoying the purple dusk, when a tremendous cloud rose by the lake next to the lodge.

no work, no study, no duties: i'll be away till sunday, since i'm going to hike through the alps and sleep in an alpine hut without any connection to the outside world.

today i finally post-processed the last bunch of photographs, they will immediately go into delivery tomorrow morning. so for now this will be the last wedding shot here on the blog, promised! it was great fun to shoot the event and a lot of work to post-process all the raws. whatever, if only mila and tobi are happy with the results.
in germany the people proverbialy say "getting below the cowl" for getting married. (don't know, which kind of cowl is meant with that, probably the bride's veil.) such being the case the imagery from the photograph above at least reasonably matches the message of german saying.
since yesterday i have a lot of post-processing work to do: till this day i still hadn't managed to get the bunch of photographs of my friend tobi's wedding ready for delivery...
speaking of a lot of post-processing work and how to handle it with my blogging friend martin on twitter today, i appropriately enough had a first-hand experience of processing one hundred photographs per day, on two successive afternoons. anyway, tomorrow it'll be finished and the results will be hopefully more than just satisfying. as usual with me the most of the photographs won't be usual wedding photographs like the one here on the left side... i really like that, though.

here i was definitely fortunate, that the tangential speed is directly proportional to the radius r. as a result i got a razor sharp face versus blurred arms in motion.
