it's always interesting to observe tourists from overseas here in europe. almost unbelievable how diverse the peoples have shaped up: the japanese are among the friendliest and most accomodating people i know. even when they are excited they mainly try to stay in background, almost unremarkable they never push theirselves to the fore. some of the europeans should take a leaf out of their books.
slimy nostrils
sniffing cows lined our way down to the parking lot where our cars had rested for the last days. above the timberline, the area where we mostly stayed during our hiking tour through the verwall massif, we hadn't met any single compagnon of her.
natural barrier
the lack of a dense tree population at the slopes was a major reason for the horrible avalanche in 1999. also mankind is responsible for this issue and therewith humans had been kind of a negative trailblazer for the avalanche and their doom.
down toward the valley
in 1999 the village galtuer was hit by a huge avalanche; the disaster went down in history as one of the worst incidents in the last 40 years. as a result besides other safety measures hundreds of steel fences were built in aftermath to protect the valley from the destroying power of powder. nevertheless the more than 30 victims won't be able to benefit from the newly raised fences anymore.

although this is not a candid image at all, the scene impressively shows how tranquilizing mountains can be.

even on the moon some lost humans might appear, although they are probably not noticeable at first glance.
centered
we come back to the alps every year, not just because of the short haul the mountain chain is distant from the lake constance but its capability to center each and everyone within a minimum of time.

yes, there are quite a few pretty cool bars and restaurants here in constance. one of the upsides when prosperous neighbours make for a decent demand and therefor positively influence offering and economy anyway.
