silken patriotism
silken products are the local speciality of bellagio, an important and well-known tourist place located on the top of a tongue of land almost in the middle of the lago di como. many stores sell ties and other accessories, made of the noble and expensive cloth. funnily it seems to be a boost for their sales to stitch the flags of the most common, typical tourist origins onto the ties; although i actually miss the russian tricolour here.

when i'll show the same behaviour in old age like this sweet couple i'll know that things will have gone right.
tilted stilts
used the short phase of open sky and slight sidelight to emphasize the bright part of these oblique stilts by carefully underexposing the image, especially considering the whites not loosing their details.
resting place
considering the ratio of the ducks compared to the boat blanket - imagine a hammock of that size for humans. although the boat's owner might be not overly excited i have to admit that i'd make myself identically comfortable as the ducks do here.
holiday cat
finding at least one cute little kitten to play with and pet makes the desire for our left-at-home-cat less painful.
lago di como
finally some days off again. we departed home for a few days of inaction, just reading, wine drinking, enjoyment of italian food and of course a bit of photographing.
