hopefully the worst part of the recent, baddish weather period is over now again. probably not only the farmers wish for the sun instead of another rainy and dull week.
ease of mind
well, actually kingston isn't a calm dog. he's rather full of energy and impulse, a keen fellow! sitting and waiting in the 'dogoscopic' - ... dogs tend to disappear in the woods like water in sulphuric acid and so he often does ... - forest is an exhausting task for him, so i necessarily had to photograph this rare, peaceful and adjusted scenery and document it to posterity.

bloom.
brightness.
ephemerality.
e-tron
shape and design of the backlights of my friend's porsche boxster s remind me of e-tron, the marketing name of the audi r18, that is leading the field in le mans since already more than 9 hours now. what a performance! despite being completely different, both brands belong to one huge concern, the volkswagen empire.

yesterday samsung announced a couple of new products, including the galaxy nx camera and the galaxy s4 zoom mobile phone. it's good to see completely new, innovative products on the market, although these two aren't very appealing to me.
however my interests were concentrated on the samsung ativ book 9 plus, which will be the successor of the series 9 ultrabook class. it's the device i've waited for a very long time:
screen - 13.3 inches, 3200*1800 pixels, 275 ppi
performance - core i5 or i7, 4 or 8gb ram, newest intel haswell technology
mobility - battery life up to 12 hours, 3.1 pounds, 12*8.7*0.53 inches
after more than six years of daily work my good old laptop is going to step back into the second row real soon now. and in the course of this i'll switch over to lightroom version 5, too.
purple fox gloves
unfortunately i didn't find the time to care about photography today, so that i have to get along with a picture of the well-dressed tina from a last weekend's birthday party.
actually much more than better than nothing.
lecture
sometimes it's certainly more instructive to observe the happenings than to participate.
but who is holding the lesson to whom here? maybe our sweet, only 5 years old neighbour girl, who is just showing tina her new book about astronomy and who already knows all the planets in our sun system, teaches the currently ill tina? or perhaps kingston, the dog, is twisting tina around his little paw, just with his melting gaze. and it's even possible, that the girls are keeping kingston down with their charm and wit.
it was indeed a very brief moment, but fortunately it's captured on disc from now on.
journey there and through
the heat wave has already caught us up, while the main part of the midsummer tourists is just arriving. the last places on the camping grounds are occupied right now. these days i'm happy to live here.
healthy suspicion
there, said it: the rx1r won't be a real variant of the meanwhile well-known reference level camera of the compact sector, but the same package just without the aa-filter. well, sony might have managed to improve iq again a tiny little bit, but what does that do for me, if i'm not able to take a picture like the one above, because the necessarily needed tilting screen is missing?
accordingly, for now i remain with my onion ring bokeh, which is not so bad after all. and my kitty nila is glad to have us back any way or the other.

i love this unreal sunset, it looks like an abstract painting. jpg straight out of camera, shot in miniature mode.
