the sun is just little more than two days constantly shining and the people are already retreating into the shadow: don't have to understand this behaviour. my deck chair is the left one, correctly positioned to collect as many of the evening sun rays as possible.
head-fi
today i advise everyone of you, who loves music, to reconsider your audio equipment as soon as possible. the reason behind my note is simple: since one week i use a completely new, mobile music reproduction chain and there is so a huge difference between the sound quality of my old samsung galaxy nexus in combination with not so bad philips over-ear headphones and my current setup:
htc one ==usb audio out==> fiio e17 dac & hp amp ==> vsonic gr07 be in-ear monitors
alternatively the fiio e17, which is built in china and not least because of that of very good value, can be used solely as a digital analogue converter or headphone amp, even as a sound card on your pc. two more accessories will hopefully arrive within the next week, including an ultra-compact micro- to mini-usb otg cable adapter to link smartphone and dac with minimum space requirements when being on the go.

bother!
the joke "don't worry, there are only two months of rain left, till the snow will return" does not work anymore... germany awaits at least two weeks of sustained prime weather. anyhow we can also reckon on interesting lightings, warm sunsets and great conditions for photographers. and after a lot of watering all the plants will definitely benefit from the growing number of sunshine hours as well.
returning home
... is always a pleasure.

speedy tub
these days i test almost all the jpg modes, that come along with the nex system, each step-by-step. as anybody knows, working with jpgs is especially appropriate, if you are on the go and cannot draw on a full, powerful pc or laptop. in return you have more time to stroll along the havel in berlin's suburbs, instead of waisting it while post-processing your holiday snaps in the hotel.
i think, that at least as long as i have to work with my (good) old laptop, i will more often rely on the built-in jpg engine when i'm on the road, sometimes combined with an additional filter effect: with the image above i tried the warm toy camera filter.
remorse
despite being born two generations after the second world war, i still feel remorseful for the atrocities of the (mainly german) nazi regime. recall the past for example at the commonwealth war graves commission cemetery, if you will be in berlin at some point.
escape from rain
as you might still know from your own experience, the youth has anything on the brain, except the educational duties. so yesterday suddenly a really challenging photographic homework, that had to be done till monday, came into marv's mind. his task was to take three different pictures of motion: both background and object sharply rendered (freezing); background sharp, object blurred (motion blur) and background blurred, object sharp (panning). since he had to deliver printed samples, we decided to shoot in high contract b/w jpg mode and print the pictures directly from sd card at the end of the day.
accordingly, what you see above, is my humble support for his graduation, of course sooc.
if i were a bird
... i'd always try to strike pedestrians and cyclists with my p**. all the same the humans tend to fire us birds at pigs and towers.
high water
it won't be long until all the boats will be fallen out of the basin. a lot of rain and melt water make for an almost historic high. additionally a bunch of organic waste has massed between the boats, which are lashed down extra firmly at the moment.
