after two annoying days of illness i'm finally back to work. fortunately the company area received me with open arms again: a wonderful view over the lake and the alps during the blue hour motivated me for the whole of the day.

in search of a minimum of colour in the last days the photographer's last hope is the winter bloom of a few indoor plants, if only during the grey season.

out of the white these small trees are growing supported by the helping stakes in the middle of the forest. in some places nature needs our affirming devotion, as well as we are sometimes dependent on a refreshment by the pure and clear mother nature.

currently we are chilled through by the returned winter's cold again. related to the vastness of our lake constance or an unwavering monument at the lakeside humans appear only unimportant and tiny again. additionally the constrained perception of our monochromatic, white surrounding amplifies this effect. that's the way i often look on our world and that hasn't hurt me yet.

although their names might sound eatable, some natural grown items shouldn't be eaten by humans: there were more than enough beefsteak fungus today in the forest to put me into the hospital, decorated with a bit of snow. maybe some forest animals are chuffed about their crispness, i for one delighted in the nice shapes and structures.

as often as possible i try to get a breath of fresh air - so why not during a bike ride in sunset? pedalling two hours while being preoccupied in thoughts finally leaves all my cares behind.

in winter the ordinary street lamps receive temporary support by the incandescent christmas decoration. this makes for a cosy atmosphere, for example in the narrow alleys of historic towns like markdorf. if the moon additionally appears by back-lighting the clouds, your christmas feelings get into top gear again, despite being already on the home stretch.

although you might think that the pic of our today's (second) presents hand out looks a bit like a frame of a posed scenery, there was truly not more than a yoo-hoo by me to attract tina's attention for a short time, this one (almost) candid image. your eye for the details - colours, lights, atmosphere and so much more - is the key to success.

what is the date today? 23rd? of august? or september? it's unbelievable that we already have end of december and that we had masses of snow and more than ten degrees sub-zero only two weeks ago. today is the day, the day before christmas. almost 16 degrees, a warming sunset and a walk across fresh, humid meadows. we have to like it or lump it - i think kingston has already declared his opinion.

dear readers, i wish all of you cosy and pleasant christmas days. enjoy the free time and dedicate a dose of extra time to your beloved. they will thank you most sincerely with all of their attentiveness.

it's so great to have such a highly compact and portable equipment with you every day. the nex7 together with a second lens and my gorilla pod fit into my daily shoulder bag without any problems.

because of that i'm able to react to almost every given scenery at almost all times. so even longer exposures of (small-) townscapes with moving elements do not cause any difficulties for me.
