this week my stinchen turned 28. and this year we will reach 3333 joint days. without you i would be nothing. you teach me the things i don't preside over. be sure, i'm going to look out for you carefully.

clashing horns
a few weeks ago i stumbled upon google's nik collection discount: only 149$ for six pretty useful lightroom plug-in applications, srp actually round about 500$, that sounded too good. go for it!
today i'd like to show a first result, that was processed with the newer version of silver efex pro - i had used the predecessor for a while, too - and explain, with which workflow the shown sample, that was photographed today a few minutes on foot away from our home, was edited by me: firstly the import in lightroom, application of lens correction, convertion to tiff and transfer to sharpener pro 3 (part 1) for raw pre sharpening, in between buffering in lightroom, transfer to silver efex pro 2 and main editing, again fransfer to sharpener pro (part 2) for final output sharpening and finally export the image from lightroom to jpg. pooh, and all that with my good old laptop... i'm going to familiarise myself with the new software during the coming weeks and i will surely publish more samples.
cornet hopper
time has come: winter has finally gone here at lake constance, spring is bypassed and we'll fluently proceed to summer, hopefully. such being the case we indulged in the first ice cream today, although almost zero degrees made it harder for us to enjoy the refreshment.
crumb snoot
today, on easter monday, we visited our friends tanja and marcel, who recently had their second baby. during the afternoon i had the privilege of portraying the whole family, including my friend mika, the crumb snoot, and even his grandma and his grandpa. compared with his only a few weeks old sister, mika only seems to keep still, when he is sleeping or eating. so i had to take advantage of that circumstance for the snapshot above, although you usually should not photograph people at table.
kittens in da club
some people represent the personalisation of self-confidence. regardless, of whether i like their doings, styles, apperances or whether there is a doubting soul underneath the cool exterior: just because of their bravery these people earn my respect.
tongue of snow
of course, the closing winter wants to have fun for the last time. btw: there are also five new images in the glimpse gallery...
following the joint
there are always two sides of the medal: unfortunately our time in the historic flat here at lake constance won't be everlasting, where the change will probably bring along a lot of new opportunities. so it's high time for me to document the characteristics of the more than 300 years old building more often now, before we will have to leave this place in the near future.
time leap
spending time in a metropole at the weekends can be compared to pure quality time. once again i'm able to visit extraordinary restaurants and bars, like the absolutely cheesy sixties diner in the center of berlin.
nocturnal activity
between nightfall and daybreak, the time when i'm able to spend some hours with all the things that haven't anything to do with any kind of duties, i use the chance to wander about the winterly town and capture these particular moments on sd card.
i can't even begin to tell you how much i love the prospect of the towers at potsdam square in the west of berlin. once again i was reminded of the tremendous gotham city from the batman series.
the museum island of berlin is divided from the rest of the city by the river spree. in the gallery below i like to show you two different views along the river from one of the thirteen bridges across the island. the first one was captured with standard, the second sample with very high iso settings: i tried to obtain a shutter speed that was suitable for freezing the fluttering flakes of white grain.
fresh of the morning
day of travel: left stuttgart in the fresh of the morning, reached berlin in the depth of pain..., um, well, in the depth of frost. actually unbelievable, but unfortunately true. to be continued...
