1202 - life delta

life delta - sony nex 7 | sel35 f1.8 | f4.0 | ISO1600 | 1/60

seeing the beauty in simplicity is the high art of life that should be mastered by everybody at least once in a while. if there should be even somebody who is able to master this task constantly, time after time, imo this someone has also mastered life itself. someone like this has coped the sorting of all the little deltas of / in life and has already developed a master plan to handle one of the most difficult aspects in life after all.

1002 - h2o

the most valuable treasure (not only) of the region around our current home is the water. h2o. 70 percent of the households receive their drinking water from the lake. the lake itself with its crystal clear water attracts thousands of tourists every year, and so on, and so on... the majority of the people has realised this fact now. on honour of this occasion a modern memorial was built and raised in sipplingen, directly next to the lake.

0102 - couch berry

couch berry - sony nex 7 | sel50 f1.8 | f2.0 | ISO1600 | 1/10

a couch potato is characterised by sitting or remaining inactive for most of the day with little or no exercise [wikipedia]. it's not that tina would remind me of a potato, but more of a kind of sweet berry, of course. when you are not in the best of health, you may adapt your behaviours to the usual (german) unemployee.

2901 - turning point

front row - sony nex 7 | sel50 f1.8 | f4.0 | ISO100 | 1/100

we seem to reach the turning point of winter: at the latest the day after tomorrow the cold of the last days will give way to the thaw and indeed temperatures above 10 degrees. therefor the seagulls had ensured that they would be able to enjoy the best view over the still icy lake at the säntis, the highest peak in the lake's alp panorama.

attached shadows - sony nex 7 | sel35 f1.8 | f4.0 | ISO100 | 1/2000

in a few hours when both the sun and the column of mercury will be rising again the ice and as a consequence also the dark shadows will suddenly disappear.

1701 - T-istraction

T-istraction - sony nex 7 with sel 35 f1.8 | f1.8 | ISO500 | 1/60

being home alone isn't easy for me, especially not if the affected span is longer than a few days. better being distracted by tina's attendance than being driven to distraction because of absolute loneliness. any way, tina causes T-istraction, even if she isn't at our place.

0401 - light cage

the interior decorator of my fitness studio should be definitely dismissed. he designed a conversion pit that is enclosed by three walls. and above the table there hangs a lamp that conveys the sense of being in a prison or a bird cage. cosy, isn't it?

0301 - ll

the beams in our more than 300 years old house are raddled. the variations of humidity and temperature, the  permanent incidence of light and all the other parameters and boundary conditions have left their marks in the walls. at least a few signs are man-made: the former craftsmen branded the beams according to the construction plan by cutting numbers into the wood. by doing this they could ensure to avoid mistakes, although only in the scope of planning and assignment.

more or less every wall in our home is crooked. who cares? this is just what makes our place so special.

0101 - too much

too much (for an european) - sony nex 7 with sel 35 f1.8 | f2.8 | ISO1600 | 1/60

although the vietnamese don't celebrate on our new year's day, having a dinner at a great foreign restaurant seems the thing to do. it's not just that you still receive little christmas presents by the vietnamese on the 1st of january: besides the wonderful asian food also the interior and especially the decoration is worth the visit.

i wonder how they may have furnished their living rooms? even if it seems to be a bit too much, at least for a central european: enjoying a delicious dinner in an authentic surrounding - therefore i love the cultural diversity in our new world.
