keeping of animals is a sensitive topic. who gives the mankind the authorisation and permission to cage up animals of any kind? is it the evolution, our superiority? or is it outright ignorance?

every human being on this planet has to answer this question for itself. basically there are different reasons for keeping and caging animals and i don't want to kick off a huge discussion about the reasonableness of caged pets. only one question: dear lovers of nature and animal protection advocates, why is it okay for (the most of) you to cage up these wonderful horses?

sometimes the assessment of the current situation depends on the perspective you are looking on the issue.

going to school was almost always boring and annoying at school days. now, 10 years after the graduation, school (and study) days seem to be prime of life. i think you might know many of these constellations.

today's transition was a whole lot simpler: with an angular view on straight objects like the colour-framed windows of the quiescent-looking school of friedrichshafen - there are still holidays in south germany - square shapes shift to parallelograms.

some pics create the impression that they weren't captured by a camera but painted with a brush. today in the evening i have shot an incredible sunset over saxony while we were walking over the fields to view the horses' way to the paddock where they usually stay in the night.

it was already getting darker and we had to turn around and go back the same way to reach the restaurant in time for the dinner of my father's birthday party when the sky bloomed in the most wonderful orange.

today was an exhausting travel day - i picked tina up at half past six in the morning at the hospital - unfortunately she has had a horrible night at work with almost no sleep - and drove to my hometown werdau in saxony, where my father lives. he lends me one of his two cars for this weekend because the maintenance service is performed in my volkswagen. at half past two we finally reached our daily aim tina's grandma in thuringia.

it is great to see how zizou manages her new life. we spent the afternoon and evening with jawing, eating a great many grilled things and drinking (a lot). so to say usual family affairs.

the daily pic shows the misty sunrise that i have realised in the very early morning while i was driving to the hospital in friedrichshafen.

first of all i have to announce that fortunately tina's examination has turned out very well. we all are very happy about that and have to make good for a drink to this result together today in the evening.

my business trip was very pleasant, too. after arrival in munich at lunch we had some discussions and meetings in the afternoon, before a huge barbecue party that was organised by some of my work mates sounded the bell for a great night. we, my fellow martin and i, started with a few beers in the bar of the cool stay2munich hotel that you can see in my daily pic and ended in the club 089 in the inner city of munich with a few other mates.

although munich doesn't count among my favourite cities of germany this evening disabuses me regarding my prejudice.

sometimes life is a bunch of contrarieties: tina has a day off, these days the sun appears at 5am on the eastern horizon and sets not before 9pm in the west, the water temperature is absolutely refreshing and normally the work brings more joy than worse. regardless real pleasure isn't raising at the moment. why that?

today the other side of the coin is the outlook to tomorrow: tina is going to undergo a medical examination tomorrow and i won't be able to support her before or afterwards the appointment because at the same time i will be at work in munich for a business trip. unfortunately!

so today was characterised by the preparation of tina's nasty examination. she had to take a bunch of medicine and she isn't allowed to eat anything for the period of 24 hours before the examination. an undesirable side effect of the medicine is the rising probability that you break into shivers. although there are still 28 degrees at 8pm in our yard, she isn't feeling like sitting outside in the setting sun but tucking herself up with a blanket and drinking a pot of hot tea.

this is only one of many contrarieties of our lives, but fortunately anytime everything will be balanced out again. that's why i'm thinking positive and looking forward to thursday evening, when i'll be back home and enjoy the warm summer and the chilly lake, in that case together with tina again.

today i hadn't had the time to catch a breath before half past nine. after work i had to wash all the bicycles, three in number, and do some maintenance work on tina's mountain bike. after all i have lingered after an after work coffee latte at a branch of a well-known big junk chain for the whole evening. at half past nine tina and i had finally accomplished our object, a tall latte for me and a vanilla frappe for her.

while we were stretching our legs subsequent to the drink, i spotted the illuminated, orange wall, that seems to be composed of dozens of rectangular patches. nothing spectacular, but beautiful to look at, especially because its recurring forms and the nicely produced shadows.

in june the weather is in common very nice in central europe. at the moment the description very nice would be obviously understated. more than 30 degrees could be measured today in innsbruck, austria, where we visited the tyrol panorama, the kaiser jaeger museum, the ski-jump facility bergisel and the historic city itself. additionally 12 hours of sun, that should be enough for everybody. maybe even too much...

innsbruck is one of the few cities in austria where it is worth to live for young people. a few educational institutions are located here, the evening activities should be safe and you can find a plenty of sport facilities in the alps surrounding.

one of these possibilities is the not very common sport of ski jumping. no idea, how girls and boys in young age get around to this extravagant sport. anyhow the ski-jumpers earn my unlimited respect for their bravery. if you don't want to show them your respect please go up on a ski-jump facility and think about the feelings you might have when you hurl yourself into the depth.

although i've shot a lot of imposing images of and in innsbruck in combination with the alps panorama, the simple and clear pic of the spectator stairs of the ski-jump facility pleases me no end.
