i always wanted to compose and process a copper engraving like image of our wonderful lake, the bodensee. today the time had come. there was really strong wind, gusting over 30km/h. so on the one hand all the soft components of an image were supposed to be definitely blurred when captured with a longer exposure time, on the other hand the alps were clearly visible on the horizon because of the consistent west wind. and finally due to the built-in stabiliser of the sel 35 i was able to work without a tripod in the course of a short stop at the lakeside.

being home alone isn't easy for me, especially not if the affected span is longer than a few days. better being distracted by tina's attendance than being driven to distraction because of absolute loneliness. any way, tina causes T-istraction, even if she isn't at our place.

usually i use grey days as an opportunity to do indoor or low lights shoots. pattern and their accentuation by working out the structures with a black and white conversion are an alternative, of course.

i observed these two birds a few minutes before they sat together down on the power line. at this very moment i wished to be able to take off like they do and also did a few seconds later.

tomorrow or the day after the new sony sel 35 f1.8 will arrive at my home. i'm looking forward to attaching this new gadget to my nex7.

principally you can escape from wet and cold only temporarily. anytime everybody has to clench his teeth and stand his ground.

both wet and cold are tolerable if they don't appear together at the same moment. currently temperatures are rising a bit so that the pleasant cold with crystal-like snow is turning into a nasty mishmash of medium low temperatures and additionally wet snowfall. hopefully this is only a temporary condition, too.

it's incredible how fast the nature changes its appearance in november. two days ago the landscape was barely shining brightly, and several hours after this photograph was taken the mist had already cleared away again. these days our environment often seems to be part of a strange, alien planet's landscape. only a few signs point to the presence of the human race.

besides the wonderful coloured, falling leaves the late autumn always implicates the decay of the other, non-hardy plants. all the small bushes, tall grasses and flowers die, at least the parts of these plants that were growing and shining at the surface for the whole spring and summer period. anyhow you can cherish a hope that they will appear next spring again.

youtube tutorials can be very helpful, especially if you need a clear and simple explanation of a special method here and now. today in the evening after the daily body care tina wanted to braid maxi's hair with a fishbone pigtail so that she is even more attractive than she usually already is without special styling activities for her today's birthday party.

both of them evinced different, well developed talents - tina is able to acquire a new mechanical skill on the basis of an instruction within a short length of time. and maxi looks very good with simply every (long) hairstyle.

usually you have many options to watching tv in the evening: reading a book, surfing the web, talking to each other or playing games are only a few of them. unfortunately german television programmes are mainly of poor quality by this time. in fact most of the broadcasters have to be avoided completely, otherwise you risk your solid sense.

plainspoken with increased regularity watching tv isn't an option for me and us anymore. while my girls are resting on the couch and reading their stuffs i'm going to head off to meet my best friend here in homeland, the only thing that makes sense for me now.

as a technical note the pic above was processed without any noise reduction or additional grain again - not so bad after all.

some things in life lie below the surface. what do you see in today's pic? a girl in heavy snow storm? a double exposure? not at all.

the photograph shows my little sister that is illuminated by the setting sun and reflected in a puddle. moreover the autumnal hedge in the background finally leads to complete confusion.

as a present for tina's grandpa who had his 73rd birthday this thursday almost the whole family drove to crottendorf in the erzgebirge and visited the museum for the world-famous incense cones from this little village directly next to the border to the czechoslovakia. funnily all the visitors there get the opportunity to built their own, handmade old-style incense cones with odours of any kind.

our grandpa who has been a boxer and a welder in former times - in other words he has hands like a bear - had less problems with forming this little cones than i'd thought.

100 tons of these little cones are produced and shipped all over the world by the company each year. so round about 100 millions of cones leave the factory each twelve months. one behind the other the army of odour cones circuits the earth two and a half times at the equator. impressive, although these cones aren't handmade anymore, of course!
