2607 - out of the depths

... the dark knight is rising.

i'm just back from the cinema where the movie "the dark knight rises" has premiered. and i'm still stunned by the vigorous images that were presented in the third part of christopher nolan's film series. although i might say that the story of the second part pleased me a bit more after the first view, the outlining of the several characters is realised very, very well! just this fact justifies the visit to this movie.

maybe i'm going to dream about the movie characters tonight, about good and evil, batman and bane, integrity and betrayal. all these points are really hard to get hold of and the borders between them are partly fluent.

in the most general sense this posting renders homage to the great batman trilogy. unfortunately i don't own a batman mask so that i had to take a wooden mask from bali to cause a bit of fear. who can say how the next baddie will look like?

2307 - debut work

today i plunged into the world of art. for that reason i want to let my spinning graphic art speak for itself. a picture is worth a thousand words...

as you may have realised, i don't take myself too serious today. i felt like it and i think, that everybody should have such days every now and then. tomorrow i'll be serious again. for sure.

1907 - nose against window

today in the afternoon i met the myopic gran in markdorf while i was strolling about the streets. she is known all over in town. most of her time she sits at the bakery's and tries to read the newspaper which is displayed there. because of her malfunctioning eyes it seems to last hours till she has coped with reading the press.

it was the first time that i've seen her in the street, of course when she was reading again. unfortunately she is in a bad condition: she is myopic, a bad walker and realises almost nothing and nobody around her. maybe all of her senses go down bit by bit. but despite the physical decay she is really cuddly: funny to see how she pressed her nose against the window... and satisfying to assess how she masters her life after all.

0307 - sea level from above

before we leave the algarve towards lisbon besides surfing a bit of landscape exploration had to be done, too. after we visited the north of portugal with the regions around porto, aveiro, figueira da foz and peniche whilst the second of our last year's surf trips with their long and flat beaches for this year we expected a rocky and mountainous shore and more clayey soil.

and we weren't disappointed by the south of portugal: along the seaside we were walking for round about three hours from porto de mos to dona ana. it was a constant up and down with the view of beautiful postcard pictures.

despite everything i was especially taken with the special angle of the view on the things on the sea level. it was a bit like flying over the shore and observing the activities from this special position.

2306 - torture ship

tolerance is a quality you have to work hard for. it seems to me that not everybody achieves this goal. today at the boarding to the fetish party on the so called torture ship where i sensed some interesting photo objects i again became aware of the parochialism of the people in germany. i had to hear dialogues like "yuck! despicable! but we watch them every year." and "kinkier!".

i don't want to live in a country where the people are insincere and mindless like that. the basic question that arises is who is perverse? the people before or the people behind the barrier?

1906 - colour-minded

in june the weather is in common very nice in central europe. at the moment the description very nice would be obviously understated. more than 30 degrees could be measured today in innsbruck, austria, where we visited the tyrol panorama, the kaiser jaeger museum, the ski-jump facility bergisel and the historic city itself. additionally 12 hours of sun, that should be enough for everybody. maybe even too much...

innsbruck is one of the few cities in austria where it is worth to live for young people. a few educational institutions are located here, the evening activities should be safe and you can find a plenty of sport facilities in the alps surrounding.

one of these possibilities is the not very common sport of ski jumping. no idea, how girls and boys in young age get around to this extravagant sport. anyhow the ski-jumpers earn my unlimited respect for their bravery. if you don't want to show them your respect please go up on a ski-jump facility and think about the feelings you might have when you hurl yourself into the depth.

although i've shot a lot of imposing images of and in innsbruck in combination with the alps panorama, the simple and clear pic of the spectator stairs of the ski-jump facility pleases me no end.

1706 - comfortable ambience

if you sleep until noon you won't have a lot of time in lightness.

but on some days i don't want to worry about that. especially on sundays it should be entirely sufficient if you handle to charge up your personal batteries. if you additionally manage to set another highlight you are the master of weekend management.

well, that wasn't too difficult yesterday. a look into the fixture schedule of the european football championship gave us an evidence about our evening plan - we watched the match against denmark in the nice ambiance of the gehrenberg theatre in markdorf.

1206 - rebellion of the kids

it's not what you say but how you say it. the tone of a few rebellious kids we observed in santa maria navarrese was questionable. but i want to let them get away with their rebellion - growing up and all that goes with it need strength and the ability to assert oneself.

0306 - ladies at their best

time flies, on a large and also on a small scale. it's been round about seven years that tina's best friend jeen visited us in hamburg for the first time. it's all water under the bridge.

but time flies in microcosm, too. just arrived some blinks later the weekend and their flying visit are gone again. nevertheless we four had a great and impressing time with talking, laughing, eating and drinking, sightseeing, boating and fortunately a bit sleeping. there's a reason for that: tina and jeen are a bit like chalk and cheese and jeen's boyfriend is simply a terrific choice, we and especially i really enjoyed the time with him.

even if today's picture's technical implementation can be allocated to the "fun and imperfection" - category, i really go for the moment i captured with my fujian toy lens: today i wanted to play around with the high-key effect for what i overexposed the ladies sitting in front of a window by round about two exposure values, using the high contrast monochrome mode in my nex. afterwards while post processing i raised the exposure and the different values for black and contrast once again in lightroom. it's a first high key attempt, not more, but i like it! whereas this might be down to the wonderful ladies...

2605 - bride

in europe there are a couple of regular customs that appear odd and curious to me. the rituals of stag and hen night may create funny stories in some cases but i can't see any sense in the foolery of selling useless items to pedestrians. however yesterday i was one of the pedestrians whom was being offered a bunch of clutter and ...

funnily yesterday's offers contained above all very useful articles for a party night - shorts. in fact shorts of different sorts! after a short conversation with the leader of the party gang - a hen night party - we bought a silver crown for tina and three shorts, jeagermeister, feigling and another one. in this way we got deeply into conversation with the bride who is a really very cute person. buck the trend and make the best of your upcoming marriage!

fortunately she had nothing against me snapshotting her, so i was allowed to keep this authentic pic.
